terrace fires in bidor

A couple was injured in a burned-down fire belonging to a two-house fire in Taman Sri Bidor here early this morning.

R Subramaniam, 55, and his wife, S Annama, 41, suffered burns of about four percent in body parts and were sent to Tapah Hospital for treatment.

A spokesman for the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) confirms that the 55-year-old man had burns on the back of his body, arms and legs while his 41-year-old wife suffered burns to the back and leg injuries.

He said both victims suffered four percent burns and were admitted to the Tapah Hospital by the Emergency Services Assistance Unit (EMRS).

“A team from the Bidor Fire and Rescue members led by Muhamad Ashraf Mat Isa were rushed to the scene after receiving a call at 2.44 am.

“The first house of the two was destroyed 60 percent while the second home was destroyed by 20 percent when it involved a room and household appliances,” he said.

He said the operation was also aided by a team of members from BBP Tapah.

“Members used the water flow from the tank to extinguish the fire using ‘offensive’ and ‘defensive’ techniques.

“The operation continued until the fire was completely extinguished and finished at 3.25 am,” he said.
