Corpse found in Jalan Gedong ditch in Bidor

The disappearance of a senior citizen since last week was unveiled when his corpse was found in a ditch located in Jalan Gedong in Bidor today.

Superintendent of Police Superintendent Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail said the body of Liew Chong Meng, 76 of Jalan Paku was found by the public in the trench at 2 pm.

He said when the body was discovered, the victim was still fully dressed but the body condition was not perfect as it was already worm-eaten. Victim was believed to have died for a week.

“The discovery of the victim’s body was a result from the public’s information claiming to have found the man’s red bicycle reportedly missing since May 12 in the ditch.

“The search for the victim was then conducted before the man was found lying in the ditch. We believe the victim has washed away from where he was believed to have fallen, “he said here today.

According to him, an examination on the body of the victim found that there were wounds on the head of the man believed to have been bumped as a result of falling.

“The body of the victim was sent to Tapah Hospital for a post-mortem to identify the cause of death and the case has so far been classified as sudden death,” he said.
