Two men died after a Proton Waja car they were traveling in collided with a lorry, causing them to be trapped in the wreckage at 76th KM, near the Kuala Bikam bridge not far away from Bidor here this afternoon.
In the incident occurred at 4:45 pm, the driver of the Proton Waja, Muhammad Ameer Mohammad Fikri Zamir, 20, and the front passenger, who is also his brother, Muhammad Ameer Fahmiey, 17, died at the scene while the driver of the lorry suffered only minor injuries.
Tapah police chief Supt Som Sak Din Keliaw said the incident is believed to have occurred when the car driven by Ameer Fikri heading to Ipoh lose control of their vehicle after hitting a puddle in their path. The impact sent the vehicle turning thus entering the opposite direction.
“At the same time, a truck from the opposite direction heading to Kuala Bikam could not break on time and collided with the victim’s car causing the driver and front passenger trapped in the Proton Waja.
“Both were pronounced dead at the scene after suffering severe injuries and their bodies were sent to the Tapah Hospital for post-mortem,”
